Woodrow Lahr

April 20, 1922 — March 4, 2008

Woodrow D. Lahr, 85, of Green Lane, died March 4, 2008, at Pennsburg Manor Nursing Home. He was the beloved husband of Glenna (Brendlinger) Lahr. They celebrated fifty three years of marriage in November. Born in Hernden, PA, he was a son of the late Isreal D. and Mamie L. (Raker) Lahr. He served his county honorably as a Tech Sergeant in the Air Force in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He was a member of New Hanover Lutheran Church and the Green Lane Fire Company. Surviving with his wife is a son Barry E. of Palm; a daughter Cynthia K. wife of Larry Heintz of Green Lane; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a brother Earl J. Lahr of Hosensack, PA; and a sister Edith Fauland of Lewistown, PA. He was preceded in death by siblings Elmer, William, Henry, Elwood, Laura, and Edna. Services will be held privately with interment at New Hanover Lutheran Cemetery. The Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pennsburg is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the New Hanover Lutheran Church Memorial Fund 2941Lutheran Rd, Gilbertsville, PA 19525, OR the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 710 W. 168th St., New York, NY 10032.
