William Lamar Shoffstall

January 20, 1934 — September 21, 2020

William L. Shoffstall, 86, of Frederick, passed away unexpectedly on September 21, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Patricia R. (Patton) Shoffstall. Born in Kulpmont, he was a son of the late George and Nellie (Kulp) Shoffstall and later the stepson of the late Catherine Shoffstall. Bill was a graduate of Dairy Township / Yeagerstown High School. He was a member of the ELKS Club, coached baseball, football and worked as a self-employed contractor in the Pottstown area for over 30 years. After retiring from his own business Bill went on to work for Pebble Pools for many years. Anyone who knew Bill knew that he never truly retired, he never stopped moving a day in his life. Bill was a stranger to no none and a friend to all. He had a way of taking over the room, Bill knew how to make everyone feel loved and important. He was a stubborn man who always stayed true to what he believed. He knew how to run a kitchen as well and wouldn’t let anyone else take over his domain. Most of all Bill was a devout family man who loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. No matter the circumstance or situation he was always there for his family.

Along with his beloved wife, he is survived by his sons: Stephen and his wife Debra of Bechtelsville, and Mark of Barto; his daughter Kelly, wife of Tom Dowling of West Chester, PA; his grandchildren/step grandchildren: Shanna Shoffstall, Josh Shoffstall, Michael Talmadge, Carly Shoffstall, Olivia Dowling, and Raeann Dowling, Jade Jaggers, Devon Jaggers; and his great grandchild: Aurora Talmadge. He was predeceased by a daughter, Deborah who passed in 2004 and his brothers: George and Myron.

A service will be held at Morning Star Fellowship Church, 100 Limekiln Road, Bechtelsville Pa 19505. There will be a gathering Saturday September 26, 20202 at 10am for immediate family and then a service will commence at 11am for family and friends.
