William Scheidler

William Scheidler, 87, of Hellertown, passed away peacefully in his home on May 10, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Gloria M. (Kagel) Scheidler. They celebrated 62 years of marriage on May 3rd. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Stephen and Julia (Weininger) Scheidler. He served his country honorably in the Army during WWII. Following his service, he worked for the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation for over 30 years. He was a long time member of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church in Hellertown. He was also an accomplished artist and was a member of the Bethlehem Palette Club. Survivors: wife, sons: William and his wife Mary of Port Orchard, WA, and Edward and his wife Wendy of West Jordan, UT; a daughter, Carol Sikora and her partner Richard Kirkpatrick of Allentown, grandchildren: James Sikora, Rachael, wife of Jeffrey Round, and Stephanie, and Michael Scheidler: a great grandson, Matthew Round; and sisters: Julia Loski of Wayne, PA, and Margaret Dutko of Allentown. He was predeceased by brothers: John and Stephen, and sisters: Annie, Mary, Helen, and Elizabeth. Services: Funeral Mass, 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1408 Easton Rd., Hellertown, PA 18055. Call at the funeral home from 9 – 10 a.m. Interment, Hellertown Union Cemetery.
