William A. Riegel, 96, of Glen View Drive, Bethlehem, and formerly of Hellertown, passed away September 21, 2014. He was the husband of the late of Grace (Shankweiler) Riegel. Born in Hellertown, he was a son of the late Herbert and Grace (Laury) Riegel. He served in the Army during WWII. Bill was a graduate of the former Bethlehem Business College and was employed for 42 years as the Chief Industrial Analyst in the Wage and Salary Section of the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Lower Saucon UCC, the American Legion, Post #397, Hellertown, and the Dewey Fire Company. An avid bowler and golfer, Bill was a former member of the Silver Creek Country Club. Surviving are sons: David, and his wife, Deborah, of Bethlehem; Bruce, and his wife, Lisa, of Monmouth Junction, NJ; Glenn, and his wife, Beth, of Hellertown; John, at home; daughters: Pamela, wife of Larry Wolf; and Nancy, wife of Kirk Gorkos, both of Hellertown; 12 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Harriet Zingley of Hellertown. He was pre-deceased by siblings: Martha Maclean, Grace Mae Riegel, and Kenneth Riegel. Services will be at 11 AM on Wednesday at the Lower Saucon UCC, 1375 Third Ave., Hellertown.
