William Farkas, 90, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2013. He was the husband of the late Vilma (Szabo) Farkas. Born in Bethlehem on November 16, 1922, he was a son of the late Alexander and Sophia (Piri) Farkas. He served his country honorably as a motor machinist in the US Navy during WWII. Following that, he worked in the Machine Shop for the former Bethlehem Steel Corp until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the Lehigh Valley Bethlehem Area MORA Club. Survivors: Nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and great great nieces and nephews. Along with his parents and wife, he was pre-deceased by siblings: Alexander, Stephen, Gabor, Louis, Margaret, Ilona, and Irene. Services: 2 PM, Thursday, Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1418 Main St., Hellertown. All are invited to a viewing from 1 – 2 PM. Interment will follow the services in Hellertown Union Cemetery.
