William Dermody, M.D.

William H. Dermody, M.D. died on May 30, 2007 at his home in Pennsburg, PA. He was born in Hazelton, PA in 1937, the son of William and Edna Dermody. Dr. Dermody was a graduate of The University of Scranton and The George Washington University School of Medicine. He served in the United States Navy Medical Corps for ten years prior to opening his own private practice in Internal Medicine and Nephrology in Rochester, NY. He was an active member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, and numerous other professional and service organizations. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Thursday, November 16, 2007 at 9:30 am officiated by Rev. James F. Keenan, S.J. Dr. Dermody is survived by his wife, Chris; children, Brian and his wife Gina of Bloomfield, NY; Beth and her husband George Vamvakias of Boyertown; and Sharon and her husband, Eric Brandl of Ballston Spa, NY. He is also survived by six beloved grandchildren, Shannon, Peter, Sarah, Jared, Lauren and Cole and a nephew, Peter Atwater.
