William Baab

William R.”Billy” Baab, 71, of Bethlehem, passed away Monday November 2, 2009. Born in Bethlehem on October 13, 1938 at St. Luke’s Hospital, he was the son of the late Charles Packer Baab and Clara (Jendricks) Baab. Billy was a devoted partner and homemaker to William Dean for 53 years. Billy was a supervisor at Sure-Fit Corporation of Bethlehem, retiring in 2000, and was a proud member of their 25-Year Club. He was a Director and Trustee of the Watson Trust of California. Additionally, he was a member and former altar boy at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, and a member and former President of the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was also a member of: the Hunter-Martin Settlement of Martins Creek, PA, the Washington, NJ Historical Society, the Williams Township Historical Society, the Safety First Fire Co. of West Easton, the Morgan Owners Club, the Pennsylvania German Society, the Music Box Society, and the Veterans Motor Car Club. He was also a former Board Representative of the Automatic Musical Instrument Collectors Association, and Director of the Schwäbisch-Gmünd Association (Sister City of Bethlehem), and a founding member of the Pierce Arrow Society. Billy was also a diver, swimmer, and an accredited life guard. Survivors: sister, Georgine Hughes of FL; aunt, Arline Watson of Sherman Oaks, CA; great aunt, Victoria Szakaly of Northampton, PA; and brother-in-law, Donald Fredericks of Phoenixville, PA; also nieces and nephews: Sandra MacBeth of Spring City, PA; Lynn MacBeth of Pittsburgh, PA; Bruce MacBeth of Claysville, PA and Andrew MacBeth of Washington, PA. His cousins include Nancy Kamishnick of Allentown, John Franco of Fogelsville, Robert Franco of Indio, CA, and Michael Baab, Pauline Nemchik, and Benny Baab, all of Bethlehem, PA. He was predeceased by his step mother, Rose Baab and a sister, Delores (Baab) Fredericks. Services: Memorial Services will be 1 p.m., Sunday November 8, at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 514 3rd Ave., Bethlehem, PA.
