Walter L. Ward, 88, of Macungie. Born in Philadelphia.
He loved his country; he joined the Marine Reserves that spanned 12 years.
Walt worked as a Bell Telephone service technician for 30 years; this is where he met the love of his life, Dusty Sands. Dusty would soon become his wife. Walt and Dusty restored a historic log cabin and filled it with their fondness for art and antiques. He always loved a good Manhattan, of course without bitters, and a good cigar. He loved his dogs and cats; he often donated to multiple rescues for animals. He loved to shoot guns with his sons. He also had a passion for sky diving; he started skydiving at the age of 60 and had over 700 jumps. Everyone loved Walt, he was a regular at Maple Grove Inn where he met friends and family, often reminiscing of his time in the sky. He enjoyed traveling with his sons, experiencing great adventures from riding horseback through the hoodoos of Bryce Canyon, walking the RIM trail along the Grand Canyon, and exploring our nation’s capital. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Walt died peacefully in his home that he so loved.
