Walter S. Rasich, 90, of Hellertown, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 23, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Anna Marie (Labdik) Rasich. They celebrated 67 years of marriage in May. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Cvitan and Anna (Malik) Rasich Sopko. He served his country honorably in the Army in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He started working at the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation at age 16 before going into the service. After the war, he returned to the company and worked there for over 30 years, retiring as a foreman in the Trucking Department. He kept active helping his son Joseph, owner of Valley Excavating and Paving Co. He was a member of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, Hellertown. He was also a life member of the Lower Saucon Sportsman’s Club, and a member of the Edward F. Ackerman Post #397 of the American Legion and the Dewey Fire Company, both in Hellertown. Survivors: Wife; sons James and his wife Stephanie of San Juan Capistrano, CA and Joseph and his wife Diane of Bethlehem; grandchildren, Cassandra and Keeley. He was predeceased by siblings: George, Frank, Stanley, Michael, John, Stephen, and Rose. Services: Funeral Mass, 10:30 AM, Monday, St. Theresa Catholic Church, Hellertown. All are invited to a viewing from 9 to 10 AM at the Falk Funeral Home, 1418 Main St, Hellertown.
