Walter B. Grigoruk, 90, of Macungie, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024. Born in Fountain Hill, and a resident of Hellertown, he was the son of the late Boris and Elizabeth (Cherkis) Grigoruk. His loving wife of 58 years, Lois C. (Rauscher) Grigoruk, passed away in 2015. Walter was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, with the title of Recon Marine. He served off the U.S.S. Sealion. He was a member of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, the Hellertown Legion, Dewey Fire Company, Heights Athletic Association, Pennsylvania Utility Contractors Association, and the Lower Saucon Sportsman’s Club.
An avid sportsman, Walter enjoyed the ongoing challenge of locating that fine rainbow trout, pheasant, or buck – Delaware geese also tested his skill and aim. The outdoors also led him to the groomed surfaces of many a golf course both here and abroad where he enjoyed the game with family and friends – always striving to lower his handicap. The Owners of a successful utility contracting business for many years, Walter and Lois managed the installation and repair of infrastructure throughout the Lehigh Valley. Willing to donate both time and effort, Walter continually pursued the creation of delicious pierogies at St. Nicholas, relying on family and friends to be ongoing taste testers. His positive attitude, faith, and love of his family allowed him to navigate a long, rewarding life, respecting the gift to the end.
Surviving are his children: Tanya Clements, Wife of Ben, Michael Grigoruk, husband of Mary; grandchildren: Brontë, wife of Luke, Trevor, and Adam; great grandchildren: Freya and Ivy; and his sister: Catherine Miller.
