Walter Osben Finkbeiner, 96, of Hellertown, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 21, 2015 at Saucon Valley Manor, Hellertown. He was preceeded in death by his wife Louise (Eisenhart) Finkbeiner, his parents, John and Mabel (Fritchman) Finkbeiner, and his brother Roy.
Walter went to school in Butztown and graduated from Liberty High School. He worked at the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 43 years starting as a Machinist Apprentice and retiring as a Product Foreman in the Hardened Steel Roll Grinder Department. He was a member of the Bethlehem Steel Club which became the Silver Creek Country Club. He was also a member of the Dewey Fire Company and was a coach of Little League and American Legion Baseball teams. He was a member of Masonic Lodge # 283 in Bethlehem and a 32nd Degree Mason in Lehigh Consistory, Allentown where he received a Meritorious Service Award.
Survivors: Sons, Walter E. and his wife Rebecca of Hellertown, and Wayne J. and his wife Kathleen of New Britton; 9 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; siblings: Richard of Bethlehem Twp, Kermit of Palmer Twp, May Pursel of Bethlehem, June Arnold of Bethlehem Twp, and Janet Morrissey of Breiningsville.
