Victor N. Lea, a stalwart man known for his unwavering spirit, loyalty, and dedication to his family, community, and profession, passed away on February 5, 2024, at the age of 62. Born and raised in Penndel, Pennsylvania, Victor was the cherished son of the late George and Eleanore Lea.
Victor possessed an unparalleled fighting spirit and a fierce loyalty to his loved ones. He would always tell stories of standing up to the bully in the schoolyard, exemplifying his pride in protecting those he held dear. Victor attended Neshaminy High School in Langhorne, PA, where he excelled as a varsity soccer player.
Following his passion for sports and academic excellence, Victor attended Muhlenberg College, where he made a name for himself as a kicker on the football team. His remarkable achievement of a record-setting 52-yard field goal, accomplished barefoot, remains a testament to his exceptional skill and determination. He was a proud member of the 1980 Kardiac Kulans team and was inducted into Muhlenberg’s Athletic Hall of Fame both as a member of that team and individually for his accomplishments as a kicker. Graduating Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Political Science and earning membership in Phi Beta Kappa, Victor's academic prowess was matched only by his athletic achievements.
Victor went on to attend Vanderbilt University Law School, where he embarked on a distinguished career in the law. Throughout his professional endeavors, Victor remained steadfast in his commitment to serving others, eschewing notoriety for the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of his clients and their families. His dedication and integrity earned him recognition in the legal sphere, culminating in his establishment of a successful practice and his involvement in nationally renowned cases.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Victor's greatest joy lay in his roles as a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather. He shared a deep and abiding love with his wife, Susan M. Lea, and took immense pride in raising and supporting his five children: Regina Clark (Robert), Daniel Lea (Valor), Audrey Lea, Luke Lea, and Alexandra Lea, and two grandchildren, Owen and Abigail. In addition to his immediate family, Victor is survived by his siblings: George, Cindy, and Virginia.
He leaves behind a legacy of strength, resilience, and unwavering support, serving as a rock to countless individuals who were fortunate enough to know him. Victor's passion for music and his self-taught guitar playing embodied his zest for life and his indomitable spirit. In his memory, the lyrics of "Like a Rock" serve as a poignant tribute to a man whose presence was as steadfast and enduring as the song's title:
My hands were steady, my eyes were clear and bright
My walk had purpose, my steps were quick and light
And I held firmly to what I felt was right
Like a rock
Like a rock, I was strong as I could be
Like a rock, nothin' ever got to me
Like a rock, I was something to see
Like a rock
Victor will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his unwavering strength, boundless love, and enduring legacy of kindness and compassion. May he rest in peace, knowing that his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
