Stephen F. Vargo, 88, formerly of Main Street, Red Hill and Mechanic Street, Bethlehem, died on May 30, 2007. He was the husband of Catherine (Kametler) Vargo for 56 years. Born in Bethlehem he was a son of the late John and Anna (Szabo) Vargo.
He worked at the former Bethlehem Steel Co., for 42 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II serving in Africa. He was also a German P.O.W. He was a member of St. John Capistrano Church in Bethlehem.
Surviving along with his wife is a son, Stephen Vargo, Jr. of Coplay, a daughter Barbara, wife of Gary Fretz of Red Hill; two grandchildren, Stefan and Mackenzie. He was pre-deceased by siblings Joseph and Ethel.
Services will be held on Monday, June 4, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1418 Main Street, Hellertown, PA. Viewing from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Burial at Holy Savior Cemetery in Bethlehem. On-line condolences at falkfuneralhomes.com.
