Stephen Schlegel

Stephen J. Schlegel Jr., 96, a resident of Phoebe Ministries, Allentown, died October 14, 2013. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the Late Stephen J. Sr. and Elsie (Troxell) Schlegel. He served his country honorably in the Army during WWII. He was employed by Bethlehem Steel, after retiring in 1955 he worked for the former Jack Jones Buick until 1979. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hellertown, a lifelong member of Se-Wy-Co, Fire Company, Lehigh County Senior Citizens and the Allentown YMCA. Survivors: sons: Stephen James, of Center Valley and Dale of Twain Harte, CA; Daughters: Deanna Benner of Bethlehem, Janette Moyer of Freemansburg, Sue Ellen Gruver of Center Valley; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister Eleanor Holaska. Services will be private. Contributions may be made in his honor to the Se-Wy-Co, Fire Company, 3621 Old Philadelphia Pike, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
