Shirley A. Mihalek

Shirley A. (Swoyer) Mihalek, 84, of Hellertown, passed away peacefully on October 6th, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was greeted into the arms of eternal life and reunited with her forever true love, her husband, Steve. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Marguerite Swoyer. Everyone knew her by “Nana” and by the big family she had. The family she built was her pride and joy and the light of her life. She bragged about how many grandchildren and great grandchildren she had every chance she could get! She loved elephants and they represented exactly what she was; Strong, mighty and tough in appearance but deep down inside full of love.

Surviving are her 4 daughters: Theresa Matey, wife of Gary, Irene Flores, Marguerite Velez, wife of Robert C., and Helen Espinosa, wife of Ivan; 12 grandchildren: Richard Jr, Michael, Brian, Matthew, Selena, Brittany, Tanya, Jeffrey, Samantha, Anita, Stephen, and Krystal; 27 great grandchildren: Alexandra, Savannah, Kolton, Gio, Angelena, Angel, Kalina, Avianah, MaKenna, Madden, MaKynli, Kaylie, Kaiden, JT, Eddie, Naylani, Meylah, Kianna, Ciarra, Joseph, Jonah, Zay, Zion, Cesar, Yadiel, Weston, and Connor; and her brother: Kenneth Swoyer. She was predeceased by her loving husband: Steve Mihalek; and sons: Joseph and Steve Jr.
