Salvatore J. “Sam” “Sal” DeAngelis, 68, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2021 at Valley Manor Nursing Center, Coopersburg. Born in Fountain Hill, he was the son of the late Samuel and Elizabeth (Libricz) DeAngelis. Sam was a 1970 graduate of Freedom High School where he was an All-Star basketball player. He then went to Goldy Beacom College in Delaware on a basketball scholarship. Sam worked as a trackman for 29 years for the Conrail/ Norfolk Southern Railroad. In addition, he worked as a stone mason part time in the Lehigh Valley area. Sal was a member of the Tatamy Democratic Club in Bethlehem. He was a gourmet cook. He also enjoyed the outdoors, all animals and birds, and had a keen interest in all sports. He enjoyed gardening and music. He was blessed with many loyal friends and was very outgoing. Sal lived and loved life to the fullest. Surviving is his sister, Dianne DeAngelis, of Bethlehem. Graveside Services at Hellertown Union Cemetery will be at 10 AM Wednesday, June 2, 2021.
