Ruth B. Longacre

August 11, 1933 — March 26, 2026

Richlandtown

Ruth B. (Barndt) Longacre, 92, of Richlandtown passed away on March 26th, 2026, at Phoebe Richland's Meadow Glen.

Born on August 11, 1933, Ruth was a daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Alexander) Barndt.

Professionally, Ruth's legacy was defined by her dedication to her jobs and her high work ethic. Though she held many roles throughout her life, she was most proud of her tenure in California, a move she made after being selected to transfer West because she was indispensable to her company. There, she applied her skills to the cockpits of fighter planes, specializing in the intricate lighting of their night vision capabilities. Above all her achievements, Ruth was a woman who valued connection, finding happiness in the time she spent surrounded by her family and friends. Ruth found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often seen navigating games of Mahjong and Solitaire on her Kindle, or settling in for an evening of her favorite classics on METV. Ruth's home was always filled with the warmth of her beloved pets, most recently, her cats Minnie and Mickey. Ruth loved adventure and loved to talk about the journeys she took. One of her favorite travel memories was the multi-destination cruise she shared with her dear friend, Jean.

Ruth is survived by three daughters, Donna (Richard) Johnson, of Mason OH, Carol (Larry) Rieker, of Bethlehem, and Jill Beyer, of Souderton; a son, Ed (Stephanie) Beyer, of Beavercreek OH; six grandchildren, Tammy (Tom) Hock, Tracy Ahn, Nicole (Mark) Eggerts, Jaimie Beyer, Alec Longacre, and Cody Longacre; and nine beloved great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by a son, James "Jimmy" Longacre; two sisters, Annie Feusner and Dorothy (Dot) Hatler Beal; and a brother, Joseph (Bud) Barndt, Jr.

A memorial service will be held in Ruth's honor at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to your local pet rescue.
