Roy J. Hein

Roy J. Hein, 89, of Liberty Bell Drive, Gilbertsville, died December 30, 2009 at Phoenixville Hospital. He was the husband of Fern D. (Renninger) Hein. They were married 61 years this past September. Born in Pottstown, he was a son of the late O. Roy and Mary (Fitzcharles) Hein. He was a graduate of Phoenixville High School, and was a sewing machine mechanic for many years. He was a WWII veteran serving in the European Theater will the 301st Bombadeer Group of the Army Air Corp. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Royersford. He was a life member of the American Legion, Boyertown, and a member of the VFW, Royersford. He was a former member of the Drum & Bugle Corp of the former VFW, Norristown. Surviving with his wife, are sons, Brian L. Hein, and his wife, Denise, of Whitehall; and Alan R. Hein, and his wife, Nancy, of Sellersville; a brother, Franklin Hein, of Phoenixville; and 5 grandchildren: Tiffany, Erin, Lauren, Meredith, and Jonathan. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Dorothy Grady, and a brother, Robert Hein. Services will be at 11 AM on Monday, at the Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 163 Main Street, Pennsburg. A calling period will be from 10:30-11 AM on Monday. Interment will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Sassamansville. Contributions may be made in his memory to Grace Lutheran Church, 25 N.
