Ronald Paul Mahoney

Ronald Paul Mahoney, 84 of Woxall, passed away at home with his family on Tuesday, August 5th, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Sandra (Crowe) Mahoney. The couple was married 61 years this past November. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Gerald and Helen (Mullen) Mahoney.


Ronald was a graduate of LaSalle High School and attended Villanova University. He was an Electrical Engineer, first for the Pennsylvania Hospital, and then for the Eastern Psychiatric Hospital until it closed. Following that, Ron spent the remainder of his career as a self-employed Engineer designing digital equipment, retiring in 1990. Upon marrying in 1963 they moved to Upper Salford township and built their home where they raised their family, they remained in this home his happy place till this day. Ron was a long-term member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Pennsburg. He was also a life member at the Upper Salford Volunteer Fire Company where he held several leadership roles throughout the 1970’s and 80’s. He enjoyed computing and building many computers for family and friends. Ron enjoyed sharing his talents, never asking for anything in return. He thrived on figuring out the solution to many problems. In retirement, Ron enjoyed traveling throughout the eastern US with his wife and close friends, spending time helping his children in their houses, and just being home. He most enjoyed keeping up with his grandchildren and their wide variety of interests, travels and activities.


Along with his wife, Ronald is survived by his children: Ray Mahoney, and his wife Beverly, of Coopersburg, Kevin Mahoney, and his wife, Janine, of Perkiomenville, Keith Mahoney, of Schwenksville, and Kim, wife of Tim Drybola, of Telford; 6 grandchildren: Kyrsten, Shawn, Cierra, Ally, Sam, and Madison; and a sister, Janis Mahoney, of Horsham.


Friends may visit with the family on Friday, August 8th from 9:30 -10:15 AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg, followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m. He will be laid to rest privately in Holy Cross Cemetery, Pennsburg.
