Ronald A. Leister

Ronald A. Leister, 88, of Green Lane passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022, after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Diane (Hoffman) Leister. They were married 62 years. Born in East Greenville, he was a son of the late Abner and Mamie (Boyer) Leister. He served his country honorably in the Navy. He first worked as a salesman for the former Bailey Controls in Bala Cynwyd, PA and then he became a master mason for Nester Brothers in Pennsburg where he worked until retiring in 1996. After retiring, he worked part time at Macoby Run Golf Course in Green Lane. Ronnie was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Red Hill. He was also a member of American Legion Post #184 in Palm. He was an avid bowler, recently bowling in a senior league in Quakertown. He also enjoyed golfing, gardening, musicals and shows, traveling with his family, and watching sports.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughters: Sherri, wife of Kent Fried of Phoenixville, Laurie Schanbacher and her fiancée, Rick Bodge of Phoenixville, and Donna, wife of Jeffrey Stifnell of Barto; his grandchildren: Dr. Shaina, wife of Michael Bruce, Matthew Feldman, Danielle, wife of Matthew Giovinco, Madison Schanbacher, Sarah Stifnell and her fiancé, Liam Walker, and Ryan Stifnell and his wife Erika; his great grandchildren: Samuel and Elijah Bruce; his sister, Marie Stauffer of Zieglerville; and his sister-in-law, Alma Leister of Red Hill. He was predeceased by his brothers, Lester and Leroy and his brother-in-law, John Stauffer.

All are invited to gather with his family from 9 – 10:45 am with a celebration of his life at 11 am, on Saturday, May 14, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Red Hill, 1244 St. Paul’s Church Rd, Pennsburg, PA 18073. Interment will be held privately.
