Roger Lee Schott

Roger Lee Schott, 71, of Barto, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on April 27, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Karen Lynn (Wieand) Schott, sharing 47 years of marriage marked by their anniversary on April 26th. He was the son of the late Willard L. and Gloria A. (Saylor) Schott of Hereford. Roger was a 1968 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School where he was a member of the 1966 Bux-Mont League Championship Football Team. He was a self-employed carpenter working in residential construction prior to his employment as a glazier for Entrance Systems Inc. in Pennsburg before retiring in 2015. He was happiest spending his time within the serenity of the hillside home which he built, and he thrived on nurturing the surrounding wooded property. Surviving with his wife are his children: Jennifer Gable of Pottstown, Melissa Dzielak (Jason), of Gilbertsville, and Andrew (Alison Marusak) of Alburtis. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Elise Gable, Avrie & Abby Dzielak; and his siblings: David (Louise) and Keith (Linda), both of Barto, Jayne Longacre (Richard) of Hereford, Donna Walsh (Kevin) of Green Lane, a brother-in-law Barry Kline of East Greenville, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Kline and an infant grandson Evan Connor Dzielak. Services will be held privately. The Falk Funeral Home in Pennsburg is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to either the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania or the Lehigh Valley Cancer Center Institute, Office of Philanthropy, PO Box 1883, Allentown, PA 18105-1883.
