Robert W. Stitt

Robert W. Stitt, 74, of Bally passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 27th, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Collette Stitt. Born in Altoona, PA, he was the son of the late Irvin and Elnora (Colyer) Stitt Butko. He worked as a long-distance truck driver for West Motor Freight. Then he drove a trash truck for J. P. Mascaro. He worked for the Borough of Pennsburg as the Roadmaster for 17 years. Following that, he worked for Yarnell Paving in East Greenville. Robert was a lifetime member of the Pennsburg Fire Company and the Upper Perkiomen Ambulance. He enjoyed traveling with his wife to his favorite places: Gettysburg, PA Tennessee, Florida, and Maine. He loved animals and especially his grand pups. He was also an avid NASCAR fan, and his favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. Along with his wife, he is survived by his children: Michele, wife of Richard Bartholomew of Quakertown, Barbara Stitt of Wisconsin, Glenn Stitt and his wife Ilia of Lebanon, Robert B. Stitt and his wife Stephanie of East Greenville, Jaime McMahon of Pottstown; stepsons: James Hoch of Macungie, Craig Hoch Macungie, Matthew Hoch of Boyertown; 15 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; and his stepfather: Henry Butko of Macungie. He was predeceased by his siblings: Boyd and John Stitt, and Kathleen Frankenfield; and a grandson: Tyler Hamrick. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, July 5, at the Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 163 Main St., Pennsburg PA 18073. All are invited to gather with his family at the funeral home from 10 AM until the services begins.
