Robert C. Shurgalla

Robert C. Shurgalla Jr., 60, of Allentown, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Karen (Check) Shurgalla. They celebrated 40 years of marriage in June. Born in Ft. Hill and raised in Hellertown, he was a son of Robert Sr., of Coopersburg, husband of Mary Shurgalla, and Joan (Knauss) Shurgalla Solt, wife of the late Richard Solt of Allentown. He was a 1972 graduate of Saucon Valley High, and a graduate of Philco Ford Technical School. Bob was a machinist for the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 26 years in the #2 Machine Shop and Beth Forge, before retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Lower Saucon Sportsman's Club, the West End Republican Club, and was a long time volunteer at America On Wheels in Allentown. He was an avid racing fan, NHRA Drag Racing; a fan of Richard Petty, Old Time NASCAR Racing, Indy Car Racing, and Formula One Racing. He loved music and spent many nights at local Jam Nights. He loved the Rolling Stones, the NY Yankees, and the Miami Dolphins. He also enjoyed cooking and gardening. Survivors: Wife; daughter Michelle Marie, wife of Jamie Ealey, of East Stroudsburg; grandchildren: Aydan and Alayna; siblings: Richard and wife Sharon of State College, Donna Conway of Macungie, and Debra, wife of Jose Figueroa of Bethlehem.
