Robert Nice

Robert G. Nice, 88, of Bechtelsville died June 8, 2011. Born in Franconia Township, he was the son of the late Henry K. and Lillian (Groff) Nice. He served his country honorably in the US Army during WWII. He was the loving husband of Dolores “Dee” F. (Grim) Nice. A 1941 graduate of Souderton High School, Bob was well known in the Souderton area during the many years he worked in sales at Hope's, a clothing store in Souderton. He was a kind and gregarious man. He was also known to be a dapper dresser. Later, he also worked for Fisher’s Furniture, Harris Oldsmobile in Lansdale and Snyder's in Hatfield, retiring in 2005. Bob enjoyed music and singing in church. Most recently, he was a member of Calvary UCC in Barto. Bob was a member of the Lions Club in Souderton and for years was their Easter Bunny during the 1960's. Survivors, along with his wife, are his son Steve, and his wife, Peggy, of Ft. Myers, FL, his daughter-in-law, Angela, of Green Lane and his son, David, and his wife, Lilia, of Lancaster; his sister Helen Shepley of Souderton. He was preceded in death by his son, James, and by step-sons John and Randy Labs, as well as his sister, Marie Stauffer. Bob had 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
