Robert W. Grosset, of Hellertown, died Saturday, May 16th, at St. Luke's Hospital following a difficult year of health challenges. He was just one month shy of his 77th birthday. Bob was the devoted husband of Lorraine (Fioretti) Grosset for the past 23 years and father to his son, Robert Luc Grosset of Philadelphia.
He will be remembered for his easy-going, affable personality, his kind and empathetic nature, his passion for golf (which he indulged at Silver Creek Country Club for many years), and his unwavering support of the New York Yankees and the Miami Dolphins.
Bob also had a special affinity for animals and loved living in the countryside of both the Lehigh Valley and Bucks County. He had the joy of raising and loving several Golden Retrievers over the years, many of which were rescues.
He attended Holy Ghost Elementary School and Bethlehem Catholic High School, graduating in 1967. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1971, earning a degree in business management before moving to Manhattan to begin a career in sales and sales management for Fortune 400 companies. He also co-owned and operated Rita's franchises in the Lehigh Valley and served as a substitute teacher in the Saucon Valley and Southern Lehigh school districts following his retirement.
Bob was pre-deceased by his parents, Evelyn and Albert Grosset, and his sister, Jeannette, and brother-in-law, Frank Perch. In addition to his wife and son, he is survived by nephew Frank Perch Jr. and his wife, Jocelyn, and nieces Kristen Hampton and Mia Spadoni.
Bob expressly requested that his obituary included his expression of deep gratitude and appreciation for all of the doctors, nurses and health care professionals -- particularly the staff of St. Luke's in Fountain Hill -- who worked tirelessly to support him throughout his health challenges.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 from 10-11 a.m. at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church, 1408 Easton Rd. Hellertown, PA 18055. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. in the Church. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Bob requested that donations in his memory be directed to the Centers for Animal Health and Welfare in Easton, Pa., or to other organizations that aid and support animals.
