Robert A. Caddell

Staten Island, N.Y. - Robert A. Caddell, 81, formerly of West Brighton, died on July 23, 2010 at home in Center Valley, PA. Born on Staten Island, Mr Caddell, an accomplished carpenter, built his first home in West Brighton in 1957 and lived there until he moved to Pittstown, New Jersey in 1987 and then Center Valley, PA in 2004. Mr Caddell graduated from Curtis High school and attended Wagner College. He served in the US Naval Reserve and was employed at Sears on Staten Island for 42 years. He was a longtime parishioner at Calvary Presbyterian Church and served there as a Deacon and an Elder. Mr Caddell, an avid reader, enjoyed books on the history of sailing and spent time sailing the Northeast with his son and grandchildren; he also loved skiing, golfing, and gardening as well as vacationing in Nova Scotia and Florida. Surviving are his loving wife of 59 years, the former Joan Larson; a daughter, Laura Caddell, a son Scott, two brothers, Earl and Leonard. Mr Caddell was predeceased by his beloved grandson, Christopher and has three grandchildren, Ian, Caroline and Kersti. Burial will take place in Nova Scotia, Canada.
