Richard Walter Yocum

Richard Walter Yocum, 73, of East Greenville, passed away Friday, February 13, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Malissa (Small) Yocum. Richard was born in Allentown on February 28, 1952 to the late Walter Herbert and Betty (Frederick) Yocum. A proud graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School, Class of 1970, Richard was an avid participant in cross country running during his school years. He continued his education at Penn State University, where he obtained an associate degree in Wildlife Management in 1972. Richard's life was characterized by his work ethic and commitment to his family. He proudly worked as a maintenance mechanic for the Upper Perkiomen School District for 40 years until retirement. He also had his own tree trimming business, and instilled a sense of responsibility and teamwork in his children by involving them in a lawn mowing service and newspaper route. After retirement he worked for his friend at Weikel Farm in Perkasie. Richard was a member of Horizon Church, where he not only worshiped but also participated in the church's softball league.

Outside of working, he enjoyed truck pulling at The Buck Motorsports Park, Lancaster. An avid sports fan, Richard was a devoted supporter of the Philadelphia Eagles and the Philadelphia Phillies, attending Spring Training in Clearwater, FL yearly. Additionally, he had a passion for hunting, particularly archery, where he enjoyed the tranquility of nature. But most of all, he was known for his unwavering commitment to his family, finding great joy in caring for and loving them all!

Survivors: In addition to his loving wife of 38 years; children: John (Misty), Sara, Paul (Will), Amy (Stephen), Joanna (Tony), Laura (Phil), Bruce (Brenna). Ethan (Miranda) Alice; grandchildren: Adriana, Matthew, Sadie, Jocelyn, Judah, Chrissy, Esther, Brianne, Malissa, Ariana, Aiden, AJ, Richie, Madelyn, Olivia, Weston, Calvin, Carlo, Clayton, Lennox, Rhiannon, Buddy; great grandson: Orion. He was predeceased by his brother: Bruce Yocum.

Services: A Birthday Celebration of his life will be held 1pm Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Horizon Church, 2613 South Street, Allentown. There will be no calling hours. The Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg are handling the arrangements.
