Richard Shell Rank

Richard S. Rank, 90, of Allentown passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 14th, 2021. He was the beloved spouse of the late Blanche (Mellinger) Rank. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Michael and Esther (Engler) Rank. He served our country honorably during the Korean War in the US Army. He was an Industrial Analyst for Bethlehem Steel for 30 years, retiring in 1985. He then worked part time for Avis Rental Car as a shuttle driver for 30 years, retiring in 2016. Richard was a lifetime Member of both the American Legion, Fountain Hill, and the VFW in Northampton. He was an avid fan of all sports: local, college, and professional. Most of all, he was devoted to his family who loved and admired him. Richard is survived by his daughters: Linda Sherman of Easton; Karen, wife of Scott Spielman of Allentown; son Donald Rank and his companion Amy Mead, of Allentown; 5 grandchildren: Tracey Mazzarella, Kelly Mihalko, Zachary Sherman, Jessica Spielman, Cole Spielman; 9 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Natalie Bell of Allentown. He was predeceased by siblings: David Rank, Frederick Rank, Michael Rank; and, son-in-law Kyle Sherman. Services will be held privately.
