Richard George Emley

Richard G. Emley of Bethlehem, passed away on September 22, 2022 at Country Meadows in Bethlehem, PA. He worked for Anaconda Copper for 33 years as Field Engineer, Planner, Plant Engineer, and Sr. Mechanical Engineer. He worked in the Penn Amboy NJ Copper Refinery and Buffalo NY plant. He retired in 1983.

Born March 27, 1922 in Brooklyn NY, he was the son of the late Albert and Mary (Weiss) Emley. He was a 1939 graduate from Phillipsburg High School and a 1950 graduate from Lafayette College where he received a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He has his Professional Engineering License for the State of New Jersey.

He served in the Army during World War II with the 75th Division in the European Theater. He was awarded the Bronze Star with a Cluster.

He and his wife, the former Barbara P. Baines, were married for 67 years. He is survived by a daughter, Karen Lubrecht, of Allentown, PA; a son, Lane Emley of Barnegat, NJ; 3 grandchildren, Clint, Chad, and Jessica; 4 great grandchildren, Tommy, Zane, Jude and Taylor
