Richard L. Dimmick Sr., 85, of Hellertown, died March 1, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Doris (Serfass) Dimmick. They celebrated 63 years of marriage last June. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Raymond and Charlotte (Ludwig) Dimmick. He served his country honorably in the Army in Italy following WWII. He was a graduate of Bethlehem Business School and worked for the former Bethlehem Steel Corp in the Industrial Engineering Department for over 30 years until retiring in 1982. Richard was a member of Emmanuel Evangelical Congregational Church in Bethlehem. He was also a former member of the Bethlehem Steel Club now the Silver Creek Country Club. He was a self taught artist and his work has been shown in several area galleries. Survivors: Wife; Sons: Richard Jr. and his wife Julie of Jarrettsville, MD, and Lee Alan and his wife Charlene of Bethlehem; a daughter, Cathie, wife of Martin Ward, of Bethlehem; grandchildren: Sara and Mark Dimmick, and Kelsi, Abby, and James Ward; sisters: Betty Laferriere of Massachusetts, and Marilyn Ritter of Macungie. He was pre-deceased by sisters, June and Anna Mae, and a brother Leonard. Services: A Memorial celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 9, at Emmanuel Evangelical Congregational Church, 75 E. Union Blvd, Bethlehem, PA 18018.
