Richard Daneke

October 8, 1953 — April 22, 2015

Richard J. Daneke Jr, 61, of Green Lane, passed away peacefully surrounded by his beloved family on April 22, 2015 at the Philadelphia V.A. Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Denise Folks. Born in Pontiac, MI, he was the son of the late Richard and Patricia (Delahanty) Daneke Sr. He served his country honorably in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked for General Motors for 25 years as a manager. After leaving G.M., he was the Seafood Manager at Clemmens Market. Following that, he worked as a nursing assistant for 8 years at Eagleville Hospital until becoming disabled. Surviving with Denise are his daughters, Erin of Plymouth Meeting, and Lauren of Limerick; his sisters, Kathleen, wife of Daniel Wightman of Macinac Island, MI, Julie wife of Steven Francuch of Troy, MI, and Amy Daneke of Detroit, MI; and step children, C.J. Smith and his wife Shawn, and Jordan Folks, both of Green Lane, and Stacey Folks,of East Greenville; and step grandchildren, Halie and Rhylie Smith. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 25, at the Falk Funeral Home where all are invited to gather from 10 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Support Homeless Veterans Inc, 119 South Easton Road, Suite 104, Glenside PA 19038.
