Richard Fred Bond

Richard Fred Bond, 89 of Macungie went to be with the Lord on Tuesday June 16, 2026. Born on January 5, 1937, he was the son of the late Leon Bond and Alice (Koch) Bond-Bush. He was the loving husband of Constance Jean (Schantz) Bond.

After graduating from Bethlehem High School in 1955, Richard was employed by the Bethlehem Steel. He proudly served in the United States Army 1959-1966. After serving, he worked as a Bethlehem Fireman and then returned to the Bethlehem Steel where he worked as a Metallurgical Inspector. He furthered his education by obtaining an associates degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State in 1974. Unable to sit still in retirement, he finished his last 10 years of working at B. Braun. In 2003, went on a 18 year adventure with Connie, living in The Villages, Florida. They returned to the Lehigh Valley in 2022. Richard was a collector of stamps and coins, a hobby he shared with his late father. He never really got a deer, but spent time hunting with his late brother Bob, sons and nephews.

He will always remain in the hearts of his wife Connie, daughter Tina Burns (Christina Bond), wife of Christopher Burns, sons Chris Bond, (Natalie Repsher) and Cory Bond (Valerie Poandl) along with his sister, Ruth Stine and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his younger brother Robert Bond. He will be remembered by his grandchildren Elliott, Mallory, Madison, Chloe, Emma, Maya, Sierrah, great-granddaughter Charlotte and step grandsons, Adam and Alex Lauser.

Services will be held Saturday July 25th at Bethany Church, 1208 Brookside Rd, Macungie. Calling hours are 9-11 and service at 11.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Luke's Hospice, Bethlehem, PA.
