R. James "Bud" Hoffman

R. James “Bud” Hoffman Jr., 78, of Zionsville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 2nd, 2024. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Revere J. and Frances M.(Heist) Hoffman. A 1964 graduate of Upper Perk High School, he lettered in Track, played the trombone in the school band, then earned his Associate’s Degree from Montgomery County Community College. He served his country honorably in the US Air Force in Air Traffic Control having served 3 TDY tours in Vietnam. Following his service he started in the Television Industry as a cameraman for the former Telfax in Montgomeryville, filming major sporting events including the 1992 Winter Olympics. Later became a self-employed electrician and drove for the Heist Limousine Service for many years.

Bud was an avid reader acquiring over 1000 books in his lifetime. He was a History Buff, loved to garden, and enjoyed classical music. But most of all loved his family, his church, and friends and will be missed by ALL.

Bud is survived by his siblings, Joel F. Hoffman and his wife, Kathy (Lascik) of Wellsville, NY, Dr. Kriss A. Hoffman and her wife, Nancy Boerema of Lincoln City, Oregon, and his sister, Jill E. Fitch and her husband, Raymond of Barto; an aunt, Barbara Heist of Zionsville; nephews Lt. Colonel Kevin J. Hoffman, active military, and his wife Krissna of Blackstone VA., Joshua Lamb of Johnstown, and a niece Andrea Silvestri and her husband Steve; a cousin Charmaine Krauss and her husband Jim, and Bud’s dog "Hunter". Along with his parents, he was predeceased by nephews, Jon D. Lamb Jr. and Jeremy Long.

All are invited to gather from 10 – 11 AM on Saturday, December 14th, 2024, with a memorial service at 11 AM at Hosensack Evangelical Congregational Church, 7663 Buhman Road Zionsville, PA 18092. He will be laid to rest in the church graveyard.
