Raymond Schell, Sr.

Raymond A. Schell Sr., 78, of W. Hendricks Road, Pennsburg, died April 4, 2010. He was the husband of Jane M. (Ott) Schell. They were married 57 years this past March. Born in Green Lane, he was a son of the late George and Sarah (Tagert) Schell. He was a carpenter at the Superior Tube Co., Collegeville for over 30 years, retiring in 1994. He was a veteran of the National Guard Reserves. He was a member of St. Luke’s (Keelor’s) Lutheran Church, Obelisk. He was a member of the Green Lane Fire Company; the Green Lane- Marlborough Lions Club; the Perkiomen Lodge #595, F&AM; and the Montgomery County Fire Police Assn. He was also a member and past officer of the Bonnell Run Hunting & Fishing Corp.; was a past Supervisor of Marlborough Township; and a past volunteer at Grand View Hospital. Surviving with his wife, are 4 children: Lori, wife of William Ferguson Jr., of Pennsburg; Shirley, wife of Martin Erb, of Fleetwood; Raymond Schell Jr, and his wife Todie, of Kutztown; and Roy Schell, and his wife Sheila, of Spring City; 11 grandchildren: Briana, Kira, Paige, Levi, Luke, Zachary, Elizabeth, Andrew, Cole, Kyle, and Larissa. He was pre-deceased by siblings George, Marian, and Jennie. A Celebration of Life Service will be on Friday at 6 PM at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Rt. 73 and Neifer Road, Obelisk, PA. The family will greet guests following services in the Fellowship Hall. The Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg, has been entrusted with arrangements.
