Ralph Benfield

Ralph J. "Benny" Benfield, 81, of Bechtelsville died January 23, 2013 at home. He was the husband of the late Elaine (Kline) Benfield. Born in Bally, he was a son of the late Warren and Anna (Masemore) Benfield. He was a mechanic, first working for Bally Case & Cooler, and then Snyder & Kurtz, Pennsburg. He worked for Ryder Truck, Pennsburg from which he retired. He was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Bally, and was a former Fire Chief for the Pennsburg Fire Company. He loved every moment spent and everyone met in Sullivan County. Surviving are children: Luanne Stetler and her companion, John Fisher Jr., of Gilbertsville; Peggie Benfield, and her companion Ken Shafer, of Pennsburg; Michael Benfield, and his wife, Barb, of Gilbertsville; and Julie, wife of Tony Jeffers, of Bechtelsville; siblings: Mary Ann Melcher, of Bally and Thomas Benfield; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Esther Koch, and a grandson, Derrick Brokenbough-Shafer. Services: Private. The Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg, is in charge of arrangements.
