Quentin Hamory Sr.

December 20, 1921 — May 1, 2007

Quentin Hamory Sr., 85, of Alburtis Road, Macungie, and formerly of Allentown, died May 1, 2007. He was the husband of Irene (Smith) Hamory. They were married 64 years this past August. Born in Farrell, PA, he was a son of the late Eugene and Clara (McLaughlin) Hamborsky. He was an Army veteran, having served honorably during World War Two in the European Theatre. He began his career working on the railroad for the Bethlehem Steel. He then served for 30 years with the Allentown Police Department, retiring in 1976 as a Lieutenant Detective. From 1979 until 1987, he served as Chief of Police in Shillington, PA. Following that, he was employed at the PA Job Service, Allentown for several years. He was a member and past deacon of the First Presbyterian Church, Allentown. He was a former assistant leader for Boy Scout Troop # 107, Allentown. He was a member of the Lehigh Lodge, F. & A.M., and a member of the Consistory of the Valley of Allentown. He was past president of the F.O.P., Lodge #10, Allentown. He was one of the founders of the AMEFCU, Allentown. Surviving with his wife, are 2 sons: Henry, and his wife, Carol, of Allentown; and Quentin “Ted” Jr., and his wife, Vickie, of Albuquerque, N.M.; 2 daughters: Eileen, wife of Robert Bernhard, of Allentown; and Clara, wife of Allen Wolfe, of Macungie; 9 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
