Phyllis J. Hurst

Phyllis J. Hurst, 91, formerly of Red Hill and Pineville, passed away at the home of her son Peter Hurst in Hellertown on September 16, 2015. She was the wife of the late Robert L. Hurst who died in 2012. Born in Churchville, PA, she was a daughter of the late William B. Fulmor and Elsie (Gray) Gamble. She was a nurse, and worked in a doctor’s office, as a private duty nurse, and at Ft. Washington and Southampton Estates. She was a member of Neshaminy-Warwick Presbyterian Church. Surviving are sons: Peter of Hellertown, Phillip of Nashville, TN, and William “Chuck” of Knoxville, TN; a daughter, Leslie Guertler of Pineville, PA; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; and sister: Margaret Wagner of Akron, OH. She was predeceased by siblings: Mary, Carl, Elsie, Ella, William, George, Helen, Phoebe, John and BettyAnn Sayre. A private memorial service will be held in her church. In keeping with her profession, she donated her body to the Humanities Gifts Registry at the Philadelphia College of Medicine. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the charity of your choice. The Falk Funeral Home in Pennsburg and Hellertown was entrusted with her arrangements.
