Philip Greger

March 31, 1920 — April 7, 2009

Philip S. Greger, 89, of Quakertown Road, Pennsburg, died April 7, 2009. He was the husband of Leah (Crossley) Greger. The couple was married 54 years last May. Born in Pennsburg, he was a son of the late Philip S. and Elmina (Wentzel) Greger. Prior to his retirement in 1982, he worked in the maintenance department of the Upper Perkiomen School District. Before that, he was a foreman at the former East Greenville Foundry. He served his country honorably in the Army during WWII. He was a member of Huffs Union Church, Alburtis; a member of the Perkiomen Lodge #595, F. & A.M., Red Hill; and a life member of both the Pennsburg and East Greenville Fire Companies. Surviving with his wife, are children: Philip S. Jr, and his wife, Sandy, of Alburtis; Ann Greger, of Mohnton; David , and his wife Nancy, of Pennsburg; and Nancy J. Greger, wife of Jim Scripko, of Exton; a sister, Anna Stull, of Arizona; a brother, William of Reading, 11 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. Services will be Saturday at 11 AM at Huffs Union Church, 540 Conrad Road, Alburtis. Friends may call from 9:30-11 AM Saturday at church. There will be a Masonic Service at 10:45 AM. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the charity of your choice.
