Pete was born in Hanover, Pa, the son of the late Hugh T. and Evelyn (Thomas) McIlwain. His passion was flying. (Ned) McIlwain of Seattle, Washington; brothers Robert M. of Bernardsville, NJ and Hugh T. of Annville, Pa.
