Paul Joseph Tillmann

Paul Joseph Tillmann, age 79, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2024, at Arden Courts Memory Care, Allentown, PA after a 5-year battle with vascular dementia caused by a stroke. He was born on December 31, 1944, in Philadelphia, PA to Paul and Lucy Tillmann.

Paul grew up in Feasterville, PA and graduated from Neshaminy High School in 1962. He received his undergraduate degree at West Chester University and master’s degree at Bloomsburg University. He was an accomplished All-American wrestler during his time at West Chester University. His dedication to the sport reflected his disciplined and determined nature.

Throughout his professional career, Paul was a dedicated educator, serving as a teacher, an administrator, and a coach. He touched the lives of countless students and athletes, inspiring them to achieve their fullest potential both academically and athletically. After retiring as Assistant Principal from Schuylkill Valley High School, Leesport, PA, he settled in The Villages, Florida.

Paul loved spending time with family and friends, especially his nieces and nephews. Some of his favorite things to do in retirement were fishing, coin collecting, bike riding, golfing, and going to garage sales in his golf cart. He was always open for a good friendly debate. He enjoyed mint chocolate chip ice cream, chocolate chip cookies and you could always count on him to say, “how about making me a hot cup of tea.”

Paul was deeply devoted to his faith in Christ, which was the cornerstone of his life. His love for Christ guided his actions and relationships, particularly, his love for family and friends. Paul’s faith was evident in his kindness, compassion, and generosity toward others. He was giving in every way possible, always putting others first. He had a tremendous impact on those who knew him, both personally, and professionally. He will be greatly missed.

Paul is survived by his (as he would say “older”) twin sister, Paula Light (Bob) of The Villages, FL, and his sister Nancy Warden (David) of North Carolina. He was the beloved uncle to nine nieces and nephews, Jennifer Moyer (Matt), Heather Block (Aaron), Megan Wunsch (Ed), Ronnie King, Eddie Kane, Emily Warden, Aspen Working and Bryce Warden and ten great nieces and nephews, Gabe & Jack Moyer, Ryan & Emma Block, Adam, Sara, & Lucy Wunsch, Raechel King and Hudson & Axel Working.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Lucy Tillmann, his sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Ron King and nephew Eric King.

To honor Paul’s wishes, services will be private.
