Paul Herbert Sames, 87, who resides in Red Hill in his much loved Upper Perkiomen Valley, died July 2, 2011 at Lifequest Nursing Center hospice in Quakertown after a brief illness. Born July 13, 1923 in Phillipsburg, NJ, he was the son of the late Henry and Pearl (Wismer) Sames. Married to the late Gloria Florence (Kramer), he was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Paul was a lifelong member of the Jehovah's Witness. He drove truck for 2 years in the Army during WWII, taking part in the Red Ball Express Convoy system in Europe. Paul lived in the Upper Perkiomen Valley most of his life and hiked and fished throughout the area. His love of the valley sustained him through the years. Surviving Paul are his 4 children, Bruce Carl Sames of Quakertown; Patricia Ann Kraft of Willow Grove; Wanda Kay Swavely of Quakertown; Paula Jean Sames of Pottstown. He is also survived by 1 brother, 5 sisters, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. Services are private and at the convenience of the family.
