Paul D’Alessandro, 102, of Saucon Valley Manor, Hellertown, and formerly of South Orange, NJ, died May 11, 2008 at the Manor. He was the husband of the late Viola (Ciufi) D’Alessandro. Born in Campolieto, Italy, he came to the U.S. at age 11. He was the owner of the former Olympic, Jr., Clothing Factory, Newark, for over 30 years, retiring at age 75. Paul was a hard worker, working 6 days a week for many years. He loved his job and approached it with the same passion and intensity with which he lived his life. He traveled extensively, loved good food and wine, New York City, the Metropolitan Opera (where he was a series subscriber for 25 years), bowling and bocce, and the New York Yankees. His greatest love and devotion were to his family. He remained active with physical exercise many days each week until he was 95. A kind and generous man, he helped many friends and family and was respected and loved by many. Surviving is a daughter, Martha D. Orsi, of Lower Saucon Township; 4 grandchildren: James P. Orsi, Dr. Michael Orsi, David Orsi, and Paul Chiara; a great-grandchild: Esme Chiara, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. He was pre-deceased by a daughter, Dana Chiara, in 2001, and siblings: Arthur, Orazio, Fred, Edward, Giovina, Clara, Celia, and Filomena. Services: A gathering will be on Saturday, May 17, from 12- 1:30 PM at the Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1418 Main Street, Hellertown. A Eulogy will be given at 1 PM.
