Merlin Fisher

March 8, 1914 — March 13, 2012

Merlin J. Fisher, 98, of Hellertown, died March 13, 2012, at St. Lukes University Hospital in Fountain Hill. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy B. Fisher and the late Emma (Stefany) Fisher. Born in Coplay, he was the son of the late Robert and Barbara Fisher. He was a graduate of Drexel College. Following his education, he worked for over 30 years as the Chief Auditor for the P.B. N. E. Railroad in Bethlehem. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hellertown, where he served on church council and was an usher for many years. He was also a member of the Saucon Valley Country Club and served on the board of directors of the former Keystone Savings & Loan in Hellertown. After he retired, he became a prolific artist, working in oils, and wood carving. Along with his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Sue Daily of Westminster, CA; grandchildren: Debra, wife of Hector Mazon, and Kristin, wife of Pierre Gilbert, both of California; and two great grandchildren: Gavin and Wesley Gilbert, also of California. He was predeceased by a sister, Helen Morgan. Services will be held privately. Interment will be in Hellertown Union Cemetery. The Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory in Hellertown is in charge of arrangements. Contributions may be made in his memory to Christ Lutheran Church, 69 Main St., Hellertown, PA 18055.
