Marylene Cavooris

Marylene Laura (Shadle) Cavooris, 87, formerly of Palm Coast, FL, passed away on April 29, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Boone, Iowa, she was a daughter of the late Austin and Julia (Johnson) Shadle. Marylene was a lifelong Catholic and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Palm Coast. Her beloved husband Theodore predeceased her on December 19, 2016. She remained a devoted wife throughout their 60 years of life together. She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Iowa, and her Master’s in Education, from Hofstra University. She spent many years as a high school teacher in New York. Surviving are children: Susan Slapp, and her husband Michael, of New York; Carolyn von Schenk, and her husband Stephen, of New York; Nancy Geiger, and her significant other Mark Blaha, of Pennsylvania; Elizabeth Nelson, and her Husband Erik, of Colorado; Catherine Cavooris, and her significant other, Chuck, of Florida; grandchildren: Paul, Michael Jr., Christopher, Brian, Mark, Monica, Jessica and Garrett; great-grandchildren: Julianna, Vivian, Lydia and Mason; and brother in law: George Cavooris, of New York. She was predeceased by a sister: Loris Chappell; and a sister in law: Marion Degruchy. Services will be held Privately.
