Mary Rauch

Mary Jane Rauch, 86, of Old Bethlehem Pike, Bethlehem, died June 6, 2011 at Sacred Heart Senior Living, Center Valley. She was the widow of Stewart Rauch, Jr. and Russell E. Morgan, M.D. Born in Fountain Hill, she was a daughter of the late Loren and Margaret (Rees) Williams. She was a graduate of Cedar Crest College, and received a Masters Degree in Zoology from Columbia University. She taught biology at the Saucon Valley School District for 25 years. After retirement from the public school system, she became a professor of biology at Northampton Community College, Bethlehem for 10 years. In addition, she served as an organist for Grace Moravian Church, Center Valley and for St. Paul's Methodist Church, Hellertown. She was a member of the Cathedral Church of the Nativity, Bethlehem, and the Chamber Music Society, Bethlehem. Surviving: a son, Stewart III, of Poughkeepsie, NY; daughters, Georgia Jane Rauch and Susan Elaine Reiger, both of Bethlehem; 4 grandchildren: Richard Rauch, Joseph McColgan, Charles Rauch, and Emmart Rauch. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Sara Ann (Rauch) McColgan and a brother, Rev. R. Rhys Williams. Services: A Memorial Service will be at 1 PM on Saturday at the Cathedral Church of the Nativity, 321 Wyandotte Street, Bethlehem. Friends may call from 12-1 PM Saturday at the church.
