Mary Marakovits

Mary Rose Marakovits, 80, of Barnesville and formerly of Hellertown, died July 2, 2012. She was the widow of Joseph A. Marakovits who died in 1985. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Bollecz) Kapustic. She worked at the former Champion Spark Plug Company in Hellertown for over 30 years. Mary was a member of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church in Hellertown. Survivors: a daughter, Michele wife of Joseph Sofka, Jr. with whom she resided; and a son, Joseph of Lehighton; siblings: Rudolph of Bethlehem, Michael and his wife Regina of Whitehall, and Margaret of Barnesville; and grandchildren: Benjamin, Holly, and Rachael. She was predeceased by siblings: Louis, Alex, Frederick, and Anna. Services: 11 a.m., Saturday, at Falk Funeral Home, 1418 Main Street, Hellertown.
