Mary Kramer

Mary M. Kramer, wife of Kenneth W. Kramer for 51 years and most recently residing in Lower Macungie, PA died on September 19, 2011. Her life was a love story with God, her husband, and her family. Born in Cincinnati, daughter of Carl and Ruth Woeste, Mary studied nursing at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati and cherished her position as the Head Nurse on the surgical floor. She enjoyed sharing medical knowledge and valued all of the opportunities to benefit others. When she married in 1960, Mary was eager to start a family and the first four of six children were born within four years. She always called the 60’s her ‘lost decade’. When the children were grown, Mary joined her husband as his work took him around the world for thirteen years and gloried in the travel as they met and enjoyed various cultures. Upon retirement, they moved to be as close to the grandchildren as possible and Mary volunteered extensively in community and church activities. Mary’s motto was, ‘If you can do for others, then do’. Mary’s medical history reads like a novel as she willed herself for years to remain very active despite a potpourri of medical conditions that tried to limit her, but she filled her life with family, friends, travel, and giving. Mary was a wonderful wife, mother, relative and friend and will be missed by all the lives that she touched. She now joins the first love of her life, Jesus Christ. Survivors: In addition to her husband Ken, she is survived by her children: Stan and his wife Maryann of Bethlehem Township; Mark Kramer, Bethlehem; Julie and her husband Jim Snee of Clinton, NJ; Joannie and her husband Dana Maselli of Aurora, Ohio; Ruth and her husband Curtis Stovell, Bermuda, along with 12 grandchildren and her brothers Charles, James and John. She was preceded by daughter, Marla Balas. Services: A funeral mass will be held at Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 4101 Old Bethlehem Pike, Bethlehem, PA at 4pm on Friday, September 23rd.
