Marilyn June Seemann

March 11, 1931 — July 1, 2021

Marilyn June Seemann, 90, of Bally, passed away July 1, 2021. She was the beloved wife of Dr. Hubert Seemann. The couple were married 66 years this past February. Their civil wedding was in Pang bei Rosenheim, Germany and their Catholic church wedding was performed at The Franziskanerkirche zu Salzburg, Austria. While living in Germany, she enjoyed bicycling to Bergmeister in Rosenheim with her mother-in-law for coffee and cake. Born in Petersburg, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late James H. and Aida Maria Theresa (Faboskay) Broadbent.

Marilyn attended the Foreign Language School in Middlebury, VT. She graduated from Georgetown College in Kentucky with a degree in Foreign Languages; and went on to receive her master’s degree in Education with a minor in Psychology from the University of Kentucky. She was a member of the Phi Sigma Iota Foreign Language Sorority while at Georgetown. She also studied French at the Sorbonne in Paris, France. She was a Civilian Educational Psychological Analyzer for the US Army at Fort Knox, prior to getting married in Germany. She also taught French and Latin at the high school in Pikeville, KY prior to raising her children. She loved to swim, garden, was an excellent pianist and played the French Horn in the famous Ashland Kentucky High School Marching Band.

Surviving with her husband, are children: Maria Doe, and her husband, Harry, of Philadelphia; Lisa Endy, and her husband, Michael, of Geigertown, PA; and Hubert Seemann, Bertram Seemann, and his wife Karen, and Marilyn A. Seemann, all of Bally; grandchildren: Michael Endy, Zachary Endy, Dr. Katherine Doe, Hilary Doe, Megan Doe, Wesley Doe, Hubert J. Seemann III, Ashley Kathryn Seemann, Matthew Seemann, Alyssa Seemann and Owen Seemann; great-grandchildren: Carter and Colin Endy; step-great-grandchildren: Krista and Victoria, and her beloved dog, Chanel. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Valerie Anne at birth; a daughter-in-law, Kathryn Seemann this past April; and a grandson, Joshua Seemann.

All are invited to gather at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Bally from 9:30 to 10:15 am, on Saturday, July 10, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Following the Mass, she will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.
