Maribeth Todisco, 54, of Center Valley, PA, passed away on November 16, 2010 following a brief but aggressive bout with lung cancer. She was a daughter of the late Raymond and June Todisco. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on December 22, 1955, Maribeth graduated from Central High School in the class of 1973. She moved to Allentown, PA to attend Muhlenberg College from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1977. During her college years Maribeth developed three passions that were to serve her well toward developing her tranquil yet sunny outlook on life. That triad consisted of a belief in the wisdom, beauty, and imagery of The Grateful Dead, the simple sagacity of the Taoist writings of Chuang Tzu, and a reverence for the raw unbridled brilliance of Jazz from the 1920’s to the 1940’s. Maribeth became a nurse, graduating from Pace University in NYC in 1985. She worked in various ICU’s in NYC and Philadelphia, including Memorial Sloan Kettering and Medical College of PA. She ultimately became a CRNA graduating with a third Master’s degree in Anesthesia from the Hospital of St. Raphael / Central Connecticut State University. She most recently practiced as the Chief Anesthetist at Easton Hospital, in Pennsylvania. She saw each patient as being very special. At the time of her passing, Maribeth was with her beloved husband of 23 years, Rich and their beloved German Shepherd, Zu-Zu. She is survived by her husband, Enrique Ansell, her step daughter, Nicole Ansell of NYC, her sister, Lynne M. Todisco of Trumbull, CT, and her brother Raymond W. Todisco of Bridgeport, CT. Maribeth would want people to know that there is nothing like the love of a great dog, there are few problems not to be solved by shopping, and that you can’t have a truly satisfying life without friends or a sense of humor. There are no services or calling hours, although charitable contributions may be made to “Animals In Distress”.
