Margaret Kospiah

Margaret Kospiah, 84, of Bethlehem, died September 17, 2010 in Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg Campus. She was the wife of the late Stephen Kospiah. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Boldizar) Piripavel. She was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Church, Bethlehem, and a member of the church pierogie workers. Margaret was an avid sports fan and was a member of the Bethlehem Armorettes Women's Softball Team winning state championships in 1945 and 1946. She also played softball for the Phoenix Lassies Women's Softball Team in Allentown winning the Allentown championship in 1946. She also enjoyed bowling. She is survived by a daughter, Marjorie, wife of David Kapustic; and a son, Stephen Kospiah, and his wife, Jan; brother, Basil Piripavel and his wife, Mary; and sister-in-law, Helen Piripavel, all of Bethlehem. Two grandchildren, Stephanie, wife of Bill Safranek; and Sarah, wife of Brett Biggs; and a great grandchild, Hayden Safranek. Along with her husband, she was pre-deceased by sisters, Mary, Helen, Julia, and Anne; and brothers, Michael and George. Services: Office of Christian Burial at Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Church, 1140 Johnston Drive, Bethlehem, PA 18018 at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 21, 2010. A viewing will be from 8:30 AM until 9:30 AM at the Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1418 Main Street, Hellertown. Panachida will be at 9:15 A.M. at the funeral home.
